How To Change Your Thought Process with Switched on Thinking

If you’re feeling entirely hopeless and you feel like you’re stuck on autopilot, have no fear! The Brain Whisperer has spent years studying, curating, researching, and developing a method called Switched on Thinking to help with just that. This method aims to open your mind to how human beings behave, and in this blog, The Brain Whisperer team are going to talk you through it in a bit more detail.

How To Change Your Thought Process with Switched on Thinking

Most of us are aware that a change needs to happen within us, but we are unequipped to deal with it. We don’t know where to start in order to make a difference to our thought process and ultimately, our lives. The first step to making those much needed changes is being aware and seeking out advice, so, if you’re here reading this, that means you’ve started the process!

Switched on Thinking Basics

Let’s start with the bare essentials of this method. If you’re looking to fine-tune your autopilot and use it to your advantage, Switched on Thinking can help you to become aware of where you are now and where you want to go. This process is a method that uses The Circle of Awareness and empowers you with awareness that allows you to take control and ownership over the way you feel, the things you do, and ultimately, your life goals and destiny.

The Awareness Process

The start of this method consists of four steps that help to bring you into the NOW, heightening your awareness of who you are now and where you want to go. The Brain Whisperer has broken this process down into four steps:

Step 1 – UI – Unconsciously incompetent, we don’t know what we don’t know.

Step 2 – CI – Consciously incompetent, we now know that we are not competent at doing something.

Step 3 – CC – Consciously competent, we are now competent, but have to consciously focus to maintain competence.

Step 4 – UC – Unconsciously competent – we are now able to operate competently without having to think about it – we are on autopilot!

No matter where you are within this awareness process, Switched on Thinking can help to guide you towards a change.

The Truth About Autopilot

You may have heard this term thrown around a lot in your lifetime. This refers to those moments when you do things without even realising, you’re doing them. Whilst autopilot can be helpful to human beings when it comes to everyday tasks, like driving a car, it can often present as a negative and even as a self-sabotaging tool, when you’re thinking about your life in other aspects.

Although autopilot is often used in a negative sense, many don’t realise that you can actually fine-tune your autopilot to benefit you! The Switched on Thinking method will give you the tools to navigate YOU and the way that you do things to ensure you are on the right kind of autopilot.

The Four Step Method

Whilst developing this method, The Brain Whisperer identified four steps of progression. These are the first four steps within The Circle of Awareness.

Step 1: Creating Awareness

This first step is all about creating awareness, as the name suggests. This is essentially about showing yourself that you don’t know what you don’t know. Now, that isn’t meant in an offensive way; more that we often go through life without questioning certain concepts and we simply don’t know that we don’t know about things, for example, how the mind really works (which you may or may not currently know). Once we know and are aware, we can start to make a change.

Step 2: Understanding

Once you have the awareness to take control of your autopilot, you can begin to understand how it works. Many people overthink and these thoughts snowball into our unconscious mind, allowing us to believe something is the truth and is real when perhaps, it isn’t. These feelings can lead to the illusion that you are not in control of your own mind, when actually, you are!

Step 3: Taking Action

The awakening from step 2 can allow you to take ownership and take action. You need to realise that you have control over your thoughts and progress into step 3. YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR MIND. You determine what you think and from this, you determine how you feel! Once you know how to take ownership, you can change your daily actions to reflect this.

Step 4: Auto-Pilot Enabled

After you have completed the above steps, you will be ready to run on your reconfigured auto-pilot. Just being aware will help you wake up the pilot in your unconscious mind and begin to take control over all the things that you want to be doing. Once you continue doing these things, your unconscious mind will take them from your conscious one, learning over time!

Start the Switched on Thinking Programme

If the above sounds like something you could benefit from, then The Brain Whisperers Switched on Thinkingprogramme is for you. It differs from counselling by offering a solution to the here and now, without recreating or drawing new energy to past events. The programme is non-judgemental and recognises the past to accept what today is, without needing to bring it up.
